How To Make a Healthy Hydrating Skin Loving Smoothie
Summer is coming up, and having a way to cool off with a yummy smoothie is a welcome treat in the heat. Green smoothies are also one of the easiest ways to get in more veggies for both you and your kiddos. While there are countless recipes available for green smoothies, sometimes it can be nice to go back to the basics and keep it simple. The green smoothie I’m sharing with you today is one that I make on a consistent basis. My entire family loves it!
I’ve kept the amount of ingredients minimal because I wanted it to be easy to digest. Many smoothie recipes include a long list of different kinds of ingredients. While it can be amazing to pack in so much nutrition, if your digestive system can’t handle it, you might not feel so great afterward. It’s also important to read labels for any add-ins (coconut water, milk, etc.) because sugar can add up quickly.
This recipe is meant to be used as a template and can be easily adjusted to substitute what you have on hand. If you tolerate cruciferous veggies like kale or want to try adding other greens like chard, then by all means, give that a try, too. If you’re new to making green shakes, I’d recommend starting with this base recipe before branching out and adding different kinds of leafy greens. Whenever possible, definitely choose organic for all your produce!
